I came across “Through My Eyes” by my dad handing it down to me. He has read it many times and thinks it is a good book for me to read because it’s about faith and being a Christian and being a man of your word. In the front flap of the book, it talks about Tim Tebow’s collegiate career as a quarterback at the University of Florida and how he accomplished many great things through Christ and through his own faith. I think this really gets people thinking about religion and if god is really real to the people out there that don’t believe. This book also gets you thinking about your life and decisions you have to make. I also chose this book because I have big dreams, and I thought this book would help with that and make me want to push even more to make those achievements possible. It helped me be even more motivated by the words he said and how much Christ impacted him.
The story focuses on Tim Tebow and his life, and his words. Over the course of the past 5 years, Tim Tebow has really become quite the athlete by winning the Heisman as a sophomore, winning 2 National Championships, and being entered in the NFL in the very first round and getting drafted to the Denver Broncos. He is the son of 2 parents, both dedicated missionaries. He was born in the Philippines and was homeschooled most of his educational career. He deepens his belief in Christianity as much as possible. Tim Tebow tells the story of becoming a quarterback, and coaches telling him left and right that he can’t do it, and to just give up, and switch positions. He says in the book that anything through Christ Jesus is possible and that statement is so true. You can do anything through the power of God. Despite the people that doubted him, he believed not only in his plan, but the plan that god had laid out for him and being determined and dedicated sure prove his enemies wrong. Through his first very practice at pop warner to his collegiate career at Florida to his amazing NFL career, Tim Tebow demonstrates and shows how perfectly the grace of god can make him a leader on the football field, going undefeated, and shows how a leader of courage can get you far. His portrait is a man whose passion demands the best from teammates, whose powerful words can change faith in someone, and whose most humble heart leaves everything on the field.
This book is very powerful, emotional, and makes you think a lot. I loved this book because it is about football and having faith in God and having courage and making your dreams possible by the grace of god. I am a man of faith, love, courage, and trust. I also liked this book because he talks about his whole life and how the faith that he has in God, helped him so much throughout his life. It also makes you think about your life and everything you go through. He makes you think about that by writing down the strong prayers that he has said and saying motivational things like opinions of other people and that doesn’t matter what they think. It only matters what God thinks of you and remember, only God can judge you. This book has made me think about my life choices, my faith in God, courage, and fighting for what you want to achieve those dreams that you have.
